Hearing Healthcare in
Santa Clara County
At The Hearing Center, we provide a wide range of comprehensive services to help you achieve optimal hearing health. Whether you need help managing hearing loss, tinnitus, or another hearing disorder, we are here for you.
Hearing Tests
We offer hearing tests in San Jose and Morgan Hill for adults of all ages. A hearing test is the first step in determining if you have hearing loss and how severe it is. During your hearing test will assess how well you can hear different tones at various frequencies. We will perform a series of tests, including:
- Pure Tone Testing
- Bone Conduction Testing
- Speech Testing
- Tympanometry
- Acoustic Reflex Testing
Cognitive Screening
Hearing ability is the number one modifiable risk factor for cognitive decline. People with untreated hearing loss experience a 30%-40% greater decline in cognitive abilities and an increased risk of developing dementia. Because your hearing ability is so deeply connected to your brain health, we offer Cognivue screening.
Cognivue screening is a five-minute, self-administered test that evaluates three cognitive functions: memory, visuospatial, and executive function as well as reaction time and speed processing. This screening is a major step toward identifying cognitive decline caused by depression, anxiety, and hearing loss. To learn more about Cognivue, please contact us.
Tinnitus Management
Tinnitus, more commonly known as “ringing in the ears,” is an annoying condition that affects millions of Americans. Tinnitus often presents itself as a buzzing, humming, ringing, or whistling sound. For some, the symptoms of tinnitus are debilitating, affecting their sleep, concentration, and daily life. If ringing in the ears is bothering you, we can perform a tinnitus test during your hearing exam to determine the cause and severity of your tinnitus.
Tinnitus treatment includes special masking hearing aids which will play a soothing sound in your ears to distract your brain from the symptoms of tinnitus. If you are ready to stop ringing in the ears, contact us today for an appointment.
Hearing Aid Fittings
After you’ve had your hearing tested, we will take the results of your audiogram and expertly fit your hearing aids. We will ensure the hearing aids are fit perfectly to your ear shape, giving you a comfortable and secure fit. Then, our hearing aid providers will program your devices to your specific hearing prescription. We encourage you to come in for a follow-up appointment after your initial fitting to ensure your hearing aids are providing you with the right amount of amplification.
Hearing Aid Repairs
Our hearing specialists are experts in hearing aid technology and can repair most issues in office. If something isn’t working right with your hearing aids, bring them in. We can troubleshoot the issue and fix your device, so you can get back to hearing your best. If you have a more serious issue, we can send your hearing aids back to the manufacturer for repairs.
We also offer hearing aid cleanings to keep your devices in their best condition. We recommend bringing your hearing aids in every six months for a professional cleaning.
